Congratulations to lead author Viktoriya Sokolova and colleagues from University of Duisburg-Essen and Wake Forest School of Medicine on their findings published October 22nd in Scientific Reports demonstrating that ultrasmall gold nanoparticles can cross the blood-brain barrier and also that spheroid exposure to hypoxic levels increases BBB permeability and enhances nanoparticle penetration.
